Remote occupational therapy
PADL provides telehealth occupational therapy for older adults across Australia, with assessments and practical advice on everyday activities, home safety and equipment.

How occupational therapy can help
- Functional assessments: understanding what is easy or difficult in your usual daily routine.
- Assistive technology: considering equipment that may support an agreed daily-living goal.
- Home safety advice: discussing your environment and identifying when an in-person assessment is needed.
- Reports and recommendations: documenting agreed findings and next steps where this is part of the service.
Is telehealth suitable for you?
We deliver occupational therapy by secure video or phone when that mode is clinically appropriate for your goals and safety. Some needs still require an in-person provider; we will say so and help you find a suitable referral path.
Our current service is telehealth only.
Getting ready for a remote appointment
- Choose a quiet, private space where you can talk comfortably.
- Have a phone, tablet or computer available, and ask us about connection requirements.
- Write down the everyday activities you want help with.
- Let us know if you would like a family member or support person involved.
What to expect
Discuss your goals
Tell us which everyday tasks matter to you, what has changed and what you hope to manage more independently.
Agree on the assessment
We discuss suitability for telehealth, consent and the proposed scope before arranging an appointment.
Plan practical next steps
Depending on the agreed assessment, recommendations may include strategies, equipment advice, a report or an in-person referral.
If you plan to use Support at Home funding, ask your registered provider to confirm approvals and payment arrangements before booking. Funding or equipment approval is not guaranteed.
